Oscar da Silva and FC Barcelona have initiated talks in late May as Eurohoops prior reported, and now the deal is finalized and pending an official announcement.
The German player has opted out of his current contract with ALBA Berlin to sign a multi-year deal with the Spanish side, which also includes an NBA opt-out, as BIG Deutschland’s Robert Heusel reports. ALBA is expected to receive compensation and da Silva will move out of Germany for the first time in his pro career.
Da Silva, 23, who joined ALBA in 2021 has been posting an average of 10.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.0 assist and 1.0 steal across 19 minutes on the court in all competitions. He scored a season-best of 20 points and 5 rebounds against reigning champions Anadolu Efes in Round 33, though ALBA missed the EuroLeague playoffs coming a few wins short.
