EuroCup standout Kerem Kanter signed a one-year deal in Japan with the Akita Northern Happinets, per Eurohoops sources.
The younger brother of Enes Kanter finished the season in Poland by winning the local league title with local power Slask Wroclaw.
The 27-years-old big man who has also played in France, Lithuania, Spain, and Greece also averaged 11.8 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 1.2 assists last season in the 7DAYSEuroCup, finishing the season as the competition’s top rebounder.
It’s one more move from Europe to Japan, which proves that the level of the competition and the organization of the local league is on the rise.
