By Jim Calfa: In a battle between two colossal-sized heavyweights, the younger man, Jarrell ‘Big Baby’ Miller (26-0-1, 22 KOs), stopped the 43-year-old Lucas ‘Big Daddy’ Browne (31-4, 27 KOs) in the sixth round in a scheduled ten round fight on Saturday night at the Agenda Arena, in Dubai, UAE.
The 34-year-old Miller dropped the Australian ‘Big Daddy’ Browne in the sixth round. After the badly hurt Browne got back to his feet, Miller finished him with a series of hurtful-looking blows, resulting in the referee Andrei Cheveliov stepping in and stopping the fight.

The time of the stoppage was at 2:33 of round six. Browne should have tied Miller up to keep him from unloading on him, but it might not have made a difference. Miller had already hurt Browne in the fourth round, and it was evident that ‘Big Daddy’ was exhausted, and his chin wouldn’t hold up under the arm punches that he was getting hit with by ‘Big Baby.’
It wasn’t so much the power of the 6’4″, 333-lb Miller that did Browne in tonight, but rather the punch output and pressure he put him under.
Like always, Miller threw nonstop arm punches from close range, setting an unreal pace, especially for a heavyweight carrying so much weight. Browne couldn’t handle the pace or the shots and went down in a heap.
Ranked #9 WBA, Miller struggled in the first three rounds, taking big shots from Browne and looking nothing like the fighter he’d been from 2014 to 2018.
After tonight’s fight, Miller looked like he needed oxygen, as he was so badly out of breath. ‘Big Baby’ is fortunate that he wasn’t forced to go more than six rounds against a good heavyweight instead of the 277-lb Browne because he likely would have suffered his first loss.
It’ll be interesting to see what’s next for ‘Big Baby’ Miller because he won’t be given a world title shot in a voluntary defense because his past positive drug tests make him an undesirable option for one of the champions.
If Miller is forced to work his way to a mandatory spot, it’s unrealistic because he’s not showing the kind of talent that suggests he could hang with a good contender like Joe Joyce, Filip Hrgovic, Deontay Wilder, or Andy Ruiz Jr.
In undercard action, cruiserweight Soslan Asbarov (4-0, 1 KO) defeated Brandon Glanton (17-2, 14 KOs) by a 10 round majority decision. The scores were 98-92, 97-93, and 95-95.
Super featherweight contender Jono Carroll (24-2-1, 7 KOs) beat the heavy-handed Miguel Marriaga (30-7, 26 KOs) by a 10 round unanimous decision. The judges scored it 100-90, 99-91, and 98-92.
Cruiserweights Kureysh Sagov (8-2-1, 4 KOs) and Ali Baloyev (12-1-1, 8 KOs) fought a disappointing eight round majority draw. The scores were 78-75 for Baloyev, 76-76, and 76-76.
Heavyweight Ruslan Fayfer (28-4-1, 18 KOs) defeated German Garcia Montes (8-5, 8 KOs) by an eight round split decision. The judges scored it 77-75, 77-75 for Fayfer, and 77-75 for Montes.
Featherweight Dana Coolwell (10-2, 7 KOs) beat Hasibullah Ahmadi (15-1, 5 KOs) by an eight round unanimous decision. The scores were 80-72, 79-73, and 79-73.
Junior middleweight prospect Emil Novruzov (1-0, 1 KO) stopped Yeison Gonzalez (17-12, 12 KOs) by second round knockout. The time of the stoppage was at 1:10.
Middleweight prospect Samat Abdyrakhmanov (2-0, 0 KOs) defeated Nicolas David Veron (10-10-1, 3 KOs) by a four rounds unanimous decision. The scores were 39-35, 39-35, and 39-35.
