Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is on course to sign two of his former Ajax stars, Antony and Frenkie de Jong, talkSPORT understands.
A move for De Jong from Barcelona has long been mooted, and now Brazilian winger Antony could be about to follow Ten Hag over from Amsterdam.
Antony joined Ajax from Sao Paulo in 2020, and has massively impressed during his two years in the Netherlands, standing out with his touchline trickery in both the Eredivisie and Champions League.
Meanwhile, De Jong, who starred for Ajax under Ten Hag when they went minutes from the 2019 Champions League final, since earned a £64million move to Spain.
Things haven’t quite worked out in Catalunya for the 25-year-old though, with his old boss’s desire for a reunion likely to persuade him to move to Old Trafford.
talkSPORT’s Alex Crook said: “I think United are definitely in for Antony.
“His numbers for much of the season were decent, I think he missed the end of the campaign injured but he’s obviously someone that Erik ten Hag knows well.
“There’s been talk of a £40million bid going in for him, certainly my sources at United haven’t distanced themselves from those rumours so I think Antony is a target.
“In fact I’ve had a text from somebody else saying if he doesn’t become a Manchester United player this summer I would be surprised.
“I think at the moment him and Frenkie De Jong look like two definite arrivals at Manchester United and are two players that Ten Hag clearly trusts and believes he can get the best out of.”
