NECO WILLIAMS has been urged to quit Liverpool for a second spell at Fulham.
That’s the view of Williams’ Wales team-mate Harry Wilson, who left Anfield to join Marco Silva’s side in a £12million transfer last summer.
Williams moved to the Championship winners for the second half of the season in a loan deal in February.
Liverpool have slapped a £15million price tag on the full-back while Jurgen Klopp is set to bolster his right-back options with the signing of Aberdeen’s 18-year-old Calvin Ramsay.
And Wilson hopes the 21-year-old, who starred in Wales’ play-off triumph over Ukraine, can return to the Premier League newboys at Craven Cottage to boost his hopes of starting at the World Cup.
Wilson said: “Who knows, maybe he can come back next year.
“He did really well on loan and it was like he’d been there for the full year.
“He managed to get a couple of assists, few goals and lots of minutes under his belt and you could see from his performance the other day it has done him a world of good.
“Neco was at a similar age that I was when I had my first loan to Hull, and I feel like when you’re at that age, 20-21, you need to get first-team football.
“He was in a decent position at Liverpool to learn from the best right-back in the world but it came to a point where he had to go and get minutes for himself.

“It’s benefited him massively and everyone can see that when he puts on a Wales shirt.”
Wilson, meanwhile, is confident Wales can get one over his England pals in November’s Battle of Britain at the World Cup.
The Fulham star, 25, has been a team-mate of Three Lions stars Jordan Henderson, Trent Alexander-Arnold at Liverpool and played alongside Mason Mount during a loan spell with Derby.
Wales take on arch rivals England for the November 29 clash in Al-Rayyan while Wilson will also be reunited in Group B with club pals Tim Ream and Antonee Robinson, who play for the USA.
Wilson said: “We would be lying if we said we hadn’t looked at the fixtures. We all have friends in the England team. I have a couple in the USA team as well from Fulham.
“We will be having a bit of banter about the games but once they come around we’ll be against each other for 90 minutes.
“I will be doing all I can for Wales and they will be doing all they can for their country.”
Wales have several English-born players in Robert Page’s squad such as Ethan Ampadu, Dan James and Kieffer Moore.
But £12million midfielder Wilson says there will be no split loyalties in Qatar.
Wilson added: “Definitely. Wales against England is a massive game no matter where it is.
“But with it being at the World Cup on the biggest stage, it is going to be that extra bit more.
“We will be going in there full of confidence and ready to take on anyone. There is no reason why we can’t get a result against England.”
Wilson, who quit Liverpool for Fulham last summer, has secured a dream double at the end of the season – winning promotion to the Premier League before helping Wales reach the World Cup finals.
He said: “Going into the season I had two objectives. The first one was with Fulham and that was to get promotion and get to the Premier League and the second one was to qualify for a World Cup with Wales and I managed to do both.”
