Paris Saint-Germain striker Mauro Icardi has hit back at rumours that the French giants will look to sell him in the summer, blasting the reports as a ‘load of c**p’.
The Argentine, who scored just five goals in 30 appearances last season, has fallen behind the star-studded front three of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar in the pecking order at the Ligue 1 champions.
Icardi made only 10 league starts under Mauricio Pochettino in the 2021-22 campaign, fuelling suggestions the 29-year-old may be heading for the exit door.

Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport claimed Icardi’s career was ‘hanging in the balance’, prompting a furious response from the player on Instagram.
‘I’m in Africa, next year I’ll let you organise my holidays, if you like,’ Icardi wrote.
‘These stories are a load of cr*p like every year. When I was scoring 30 goals a season it was the same thing. My career in the balance? I have two years left on my contract.
‘I don’t think it’s in the balance as you suggest with this cr*p. At 29, don’t worry that having scored 200 goals, I think everyone knows me well enough.

‘Then I decide to stay and make myself available. Thanks a lot and a big hug from Africa with the gorillas, the lions and all my friends who have more respect. See you soon.’
Icardi, previously one of Europe’s most sought-after strikers, joined PSG from Inter Milan in 2019 on an initial loan deal ahead of a £51million transfer.
He scored 20 goals in 34 matches in his first season in France, but that number fell to 13 in his second campaign and just five last term.
Icardi has a total of 38 goals and 10 assists in his 92 games for PSG since making the move from Serie A. He is under contract with the French club until 2024.
