In a preview of the upcoming Ryder Cup next week, Ludvig Aberg has revealed he will practice in Spain this week and attend the Solheim Cup as a supporter of Europe. Speaking to Chipping Forecast, Aberg confirmed that he is looking forward to having the opportunity to watch the European team.
This young Swede will be a huge support for the European team. “My caddie Jack Clarke, his fiancee Madelene Sagstrom is playing. We are going to be down there playing and practising so it made a lot of sense for us to go there for a few days.
I am really looking forward to it. I’ll be their biggest fan.”- he said, as quoted by golfmonthly.com! Aberg will have the opportunity to play at the Ryder Cup next to the big names he watched as a boy. It’s unbelievable how quickly Aberg progressed and became one of the biggest potentials on the golf scene.
Playing with Rory, Rahm, and others is a really big deal! “For me to be in those environments is really cool. I have watched those guys on TV for so long, so for me to create a relationship with them has been very cool.”
Ludvig Aberg
He knows the success some of the names have had.
His primary goal is to help the European team win! With his qualities, he will certainly be an important “screw” of the team. “In that case I have had to pinch myself in the arm given all the success they have had and will have.
But we have a goal to do and that is to get as many points for Europe as we can. ” Last week, Aberg, as well as the whole team, flew to Rome to practice at Marco Simone. It was a challenging experience for the team, as they had to adapt to a new environment and new playing conditions.
Despite the difficulties, the team was able to come together and work hard to achieve their goal of being ready for the tournament. “The rough is up so it is going to be quite difficult. Being in the fairway is going to be key.
I like to think of myself as a good driver and that is going to be important but we have a lot of good drivers in the team.”
