The tournament will bring together teams of four players from companies and SMEs and the profits will go to social projects managed by the Association of former Real Madrid footballers and whose general manager is Isidoro San José.
“The goal is to raise funds for our solidarity projects through the teams, financed by companies,” said San José, during the presentation held at the Unicaja HUB, sponsor of the tournament. Ana Echenique, director of Unicaja’s Cabinet, thanked the “dedication and involvement of the former Real Madrid players because this tournament, apart from the fun part of the game, helps solidarity projects, which we are delighted to help with”
Emilio Butragueño, director of Institutional Relations at Real Madrid, said that for all those who have been “lucky enough” to wear the white shirt, the association of former soccer players “means a lot.”
“We talked about the values of the club and the association’s objective is to help colleagues with these projects. The athlete is always supportive and at Real Madrid we are even more so with our teammates”, he confessed.
The presentation of the tournament was attended by former soccer players such as Fernando Morientes, Francisco Pavón, Rafael Martín Vázquez, José Antonio Camacho, Alfonso Pérez, Fernando Sanz and Iker Casillas.
