We’re past the quarter mark of the 2022 MLB season, and no team has a bigger lead in their division than the New York Mets. That alone would typically be cause for celebration for fans of the Amazins’, but earlier this week, they also received an encouraging injury update about their ace, Jacob deGrom. The two-time NL Cy Young Award winner has yet to take the hill in 2022 after he was shut down in April with a shoulder injury. But a recent report has deGrom progressing well from the injury, so much so that he and the team think it is possible that he’ll be able to return before the All-Star break in July. Given the injuries to both Max Scherzer and Trevor Megill, getting deGrom back sooner than expected would be a boon to New York’s playoff hopes.
Which brings us to today’s quiz of the day. In MLB history, only 21 pitchers have won more than one Cy Young Award, including deGrom. So with that in mind, how many can you name in five minutes?
Good luck!
