Compared to last year there was a notable increase, if we consider that the final pre-sale figure, which closed on 12 November 2022, has already been exceeded. The appeal of the event based in the Piedmontese capital has also undergone a strong increase abroad, as the numbers say.
The coupons purchased outside the Italian borders total 41.21% of sales, with an increase of 10 percentage points compared to the same date last year (31.02%), as reported by Super Tennis.
The scenario of the Race to the ATP Finals
Before the Finals, an event in which the best 8 of the circuit will compete, at least in the current year, other tournaments will be played, which will be able to bring other tennis players to the competition after Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz and Daniil Medvedev, who have already achieved qualification .
Very close to snatching the pass to Turin is Jannik Sinner, who has played a very positive season so far, topped off by the first Masters 1000 title of his career, in Toronto. In his excellent 2023, the Italian also reached his first semi-final in a Slam, at Wimbledon and a final in Miami.
Great chances also for the Russian Andrey Rublev and the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, who are currently in fifth and sixth position in the virtual ranking of the race. The last two useful places are currently occupied by Holger Rune and Alexander Zverev, who however are followed by the American Taylor Fritz, and will therefore not be able to afford to relax in this last part of the season.
Casper Ruud, Alex De Minaur and Tommy Paul are further away, but they could get back into the mix if they do well in two of the tournaments that offer the most points up for grabs, the two 1000m in Shanghai and Paris Bercy, which has always provided surprises in recent seasons.
