British tennis star Emma Raducanu doesn’t think that all publicity is a good thing and revealed that being authentic is very important to her. Raducanu and British singer Dua Lipa starred in the latest edition of Vogue’s “Agree to Disagree” and they had quite fun while answering some of the questions.
When Raducanu was asked whether all publicity is good, she answered with “disagree.” Lipa agreed with Raducanu as she answered: “I just can’t see that all publicity could be good.”
Raducanu on whether something good can happen after 2am
When Lipa drew the question that read nothing good happens after 2am, she disagreed.
Raducanu also disagreed and revealed she and her team stayed chatting until nearly five in the morning following her US Open victory. “I remember the night that I won [the US Open], we stayed up chatting until 4:35 in the morning,” Raducanu said.
Toward the end of the episode, Raducanu explained that being authentic and staying true to herself is very important to her. “I agree. Being true to yourself and authentic is a big part of who you are,” she said.
Meanwhile, Raducanu was forced to retire her Nottingham first round match after suffering a side injury. Raducanu was 3-4 down in the first set when she decided to retire versus Viktorija Golubic. After the match, Raducanu admitted it was tough for her to simply retire in the opening game of the match.
“I was thinking ‘I don’t know how I am going to do this’,” Raducanu said. “But if you do something [retire] in the first game people will be like ‘Well why did you walk on to the court’.
I definitely tried to get through it but in the second game I called the physio on and at the first changeover she was trying to do some work but even from there she told me it was going to be really difficult to continue”.
